Day 327.
9/25/11
Today has been a life lesson kinda day. Well, maybe not so much a life lesson but more so a life skill. Today I learned how to drive a stick shift. I feel incredibly accomplished. Kind of like when I learned how to ride a bike, except better. We got off to a bit of a rough start… As in a may have killed the car a few times. But hey, I got it eventually. And to make this whole thing more impressive it was my first time driving an Aussie car. So stick shift plus driving on the left side of the road. Yup. I’m feeling pretty good.
Day 326.
9/24/11
Today has been wonderful. I spent this morning cleaning a house, I know, doesn’t sound to wonderful, but I like doing laundry. Anyways, as we were cleaning I hear Sonya saying she has something to show me. I was extremely curious because she is really into all sorts of strange critters. So, I walk and and see she has a dead snake in a jar. Apparently it is really poisonous which made the whole thing cooler. So, later that evening after some Myth Busters, we went to the store and bought methylated spirits. I guess you can preserve dead things with it. So now we have a new snake friend!
Day 325.
9/23/11
Finally I am better! And what a great day it has been. This morning the Bandy clan, Ally, and I went to the Lavender Farm Cafe. It’s way out in the country and it is beautiful. So many flowers. Then we came back to the house where Sonya and I played a few more games of scrabble. To wrap up the evening we went out to see the beginning of an off road race that begins in Gero. Lots of bikes, quads, and trucks. And the sunset was wonderful.
Day 319.
9/17/11
After resting up a bit and trying to get the jet lag under control we went shopping and exploring around my new home town of Perth. It really is a wonderful city. I’m so excited to be living here. ALSO! I have started a new photo project. I have a love, or an obsession, for triangles. So, I have decided while I’m here I will photograph all the triangles I can find around the city. Then later I will compile them into some sort of album.
